How Long Should I Wait Until An Order Is Filled?
The availability of the shares you want to buy or sell depends on the bids and asks in the market.
The bid price is what buyers are willing to pay for it.
The ask price is what sellers are willing to take for it.
You can view the bids and asks on the order book page by visiting the following link; https://abacus.co.ke/live/market/orderbook
Market Orders
For Example;
John would like to buy KEGN shares. Below is the KEGN order book with the last traded price being KES 9.25
John places a buy order for 500 KEGN shares at KES 9.00 each.
For his order to be fulfilled, he must wait until the price for KEGN falls from KES 9.25 to KES 9.00.
The other option would be to look at the asks and place an order for the top ask price.
He can cancel the order and place another order for 500 KEGN shares at KES 9.50.
The same applies when selling shares.
You will make your decision based on the bids on the market.
The best bid is currently KES 9.15
